Growing up on Crete with a fisherman father and a family-run taverna, its not surprising that cooking, fish, and fire are in Marianna’s DNA. In the UK she started out as a waitress at Moro and rose to be Head Chef before helping owners Sam and Sam Clark to open their third restaurant, Morito Hackney. Her cookbook, Aegean: Recipes from the Mountains to the Sea, also sets out to share the ‘experience of being a fisherman’s daughter and living a simple but simultaneously so rich life on the island of Crete’.
