Conor Grant-Crichton and Maisie Symonds – take top spot as Rotary ‘Young Chef’ finalists
Two talented young chefs are set to go head-to-head in the the Final Cook-off at 9.30am on Sunday 22 Sept in the Market Hall. This is the annual Festival slot for the Abergavenny Rotary Club Young Chef Competition.
The judges will be Franco Taruschio OBE (Abergavenny Food Festival Life Patron) and Darren Greenland (Senior Catering Lecturer at Cardiff and Vale College).
Earlier heats were held at King Henry VIII 3 to 19 School and judged by Festival Director, Lucie Parkin, and Mark Coulton of Sugarloaf Catering.
So what did the two finalists cook up on the day to guarantee them a place in the spotlight?
Conor made Chicken stir fry – Thai-style, with Lemon Syllabub for dessert; Maisie went for Creamy Beef Tuscan Pasta, and Churros with Raspberry Coulis for dessert.
Come along and support the two young people who have the daunting task of demonstrating their culinary prowess in front of a live audience!
