LISTEN to an inspiring talk on the future of food. With speakers from the Deputy Head of Food in the Welsh Government, David Morris, to Creative Director of Shambala Festival, Sidharth Sharma, and discussions that range from the importance of a sustainable food agenda to food in the Welsh context. The event promises to be full of unique and eclectic wisdom. Free to attend. More info here.
SHARE an authentic Middle Eastern feast with local Syrian families at the Abergavenny community kitchen on 8th September. Part of the City of Sanctuary movement, the supper club is a gesture of welcome to Abergavenny’s local refugees and a celebration of the town’s vibrant cultural diversity. Tickets cost £12 and booking is essential via aber.hub@gmail.com.
MAKE pizza with the Abergavenny Baker, Rachael Watson, and bake it in her hand-built wood-fired oven. With a glass of wine and a view of the Blorenge thrown in, it’s well worth it. Find out more.
TALK to local growers and artisans about their produce and how they bring it from farm to fork. There’ll be plenty of samples to try, products to buy and demos to watch at Abergavenny Community Centre. Head over on Saturday 16th.
CELEBRATE with us at the Market Hall’s community feast. A delicious meal prepared by the community, for the community, this is our way of saying thank you for putting up with us all weekend. Enjoy bread from the Angel bakery, local roast meats, seasonal veggies, salads and sweet treats, as well as live Welsh folk music. Book your ticket.
And if that’s not enough, there’s always more to do. Check out more Fringe events here.
